First let me say that I was speechless when I entered this church. The church is absolutely stunning!!! I swear I didn't know we have such a wonderful piece of art (I can't name it differently - for me it is a pure, fantastic work of art). I would like to show you how impressive this church is……. but Im afraid that these photos won't show its charm and uniqueness. Despite everything I will try :) Visit The Holy Trinity Church of Peace in Świdnica with me.
It is the monument from the UNESCO World Heritage List, Monument of History, the largest wooden Baroque temple in Europe!!!, one of the seven new wonders of Poland according to "National Geographic".

The distance from Warsaw to Świdnica is 418 km.
Lutheran community, was to build the church only outside the city walls, without towers and bell tower, only from perishable materials: wood, sand, straw and clay. It couldn't look like a church, and it couldn't have been built for more than a year. It was to be a very modest church that was not to stand the test of time. This was the decision of Emperor Ferdinand III Habsburg, who was obliged by Protestant Sweden to allow Evangelicals in the hereditary principalities of Jawor, Głogów and Świdnica to build only one Church of Peace.
The church stands in the center of Peace Square, where there are 17th and 18th century monuments among old trees. Considering the materials from which the church was built, it is amazing that this church has survived for so many years.
The church was built in 10 months. On an area of 1090 sq m. there are 7.5 thousand people, and the splendor of the baroque interior strongly contrasts with the simplicity of the structure. Almost everything inside is made od wood. The organ with a magnificent baroque frontage supported by two atlases and decorated with moving figures of angels playing music was completely renovated in 2016. This largest organ in the region with 62 voices, made of nearly four thousand pipes, was built in 1909 by the well-known Schlag&Söhne company from Świdnica.
The baroque pulpit dates from 1729. The stairs are decorated with biblical scenes, such as "Descent of the Holy Spirit", "Golgotha" and "Paradise". On the balustrade there are carved allegories of Faith, Hope and Love. Above the door to the pulpit there is a sculpture of Jesus the Good Shepherd.
Look at this flying statue!!!
I put this photo here on purpose. Look at this wooden ceiling…… isn't it beautiful?
The peace churches are unique and if you are ever around you should see them.

Full of impressions, we went to eat something. There is a great restaurant right next to the church. I hope they still hold the level :) We ate grilled cheese with lots of food additives. It was really tasty. I ordered also tea with a few drops of rum ;)
My mum ordered baked potatoes with meat, sauce and arugula.
