What I like in Polish towns is a large number of beautiful palaces, castles and sometimes mysterious ruins of both castles and palaces. There are towns and even samll villages that I visited being in the area or passing through there. That's how it was with Jarocin. Of course, as always, I did a decent research of what is worth seeing. We didn't have much time because we were visiting Jarocin after my children's taekwondo competition. It was there that the "Grand Prix of Wielkopolska" took place.
Jarocin is a small town located in Wielkopolska. I knew Jarocin because the famous rock festival was held there and it still takes place there. No wonder that there is the only monument of a large boot in Poland. But I also found a wonderful palace and a palace park in Jarocin.
The palace was the main family seat of the Radoliński family, Leszczyc coat of arms. Designed in the English neo-Gothic style by the Prussian royal architect Friedrich August Stüler at the request of Władysław Radoliński. It was built in the years 1848-1865. In the palace and park complex there are also the ruins of the Gothic church of St. Ducha from 1516 and "Skarbczyk" - the remains of a medieval castle, rebuilt before 1894 (currently the seat of the Regional Museum).
In my opinion, Jarocin is not a town to spend a week's vacation there, but passing by this town it is worth stopping for a moment to admire and walk around the palace and park complex, which is really beautiful. Visit Jarocin with me.
