Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union
Here are some of the main goals presented on the Polish government's website regarding defence matters.
The Polish presidency will focus on three priorities:
* Continued support for Ukraine. Participating in rebuffing Russian aggression is not just a matter of defending European values and a rules-based international order, but also upholding the weight of the EU in creating global security. The support for Ukraine must continue in every dimension: political, financial and military.
* Strengthening of EU-NATO cooperation. Both organisations realize the threat posed by Russia. The ties between them must be reinforced, so that they can better complement each other. NATO has to play an important role in European security, and EU member states must increase their defence spending.
* Developing European defence industry. The war in Ukraine has unequivocally shown the importance of capability to manufacture military equipment, especially ammunition. It is not just an investment in security, but also technological progres and creating attractive job opportunities all over Europe.
Polish presidency will also feature many events centered around issues of security and defence..

Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union!
The official opening the Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union is currently underway at the Grand Theatre in Warsaw with the participation of many distinguished guests, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the President of the European Council António Costa. For us, for my country, it is a special time, a great honor and a huge privilege.
